Common Press Release / 18.06.2010: Xergi and GEO become partners on the Turkish market for large scale biogas installations
Xergi has
entered into a cooperation agreement with the Turkish engineering and
contracting company, GEO based in Izmir, Turkey.
The
agreement fits well into Xergi’s internationalisation strategy of expanding its
AD (anaerobic digestion) market by entering into licence agreements with local
partners.
The aim of
the cooperation is for GEO to develop and establish biogas plants on the
Turkish market based on Xergi’s advanced technology and extensive knowhow in
the field of biogas.
Xergi CEO,
Jørgen Ballermann, said: “We look very much forward to this new cooperation,
and the opportunity to support GEO in becoming market leader on the Turkish market.
By signing the agreement with GEO, we feel confident that we have found a
reliable and very competent partner, who also has a thorough knowledge of the
Turkish energy market.”
Just like
Xergi, GEO has many years experience in delivering turnkey energy plants, and
the company is known as being an innovative, creative engineering and
contracting company. For the past few years their strategy has been to focus on
the renewable energy sector.
General
Manager of GEO, Fatih Ertekin, said: “We are very excited by the creation of
this new venture into the biogas market. We believe our entry is well timed as
several projects are now in late stage of development. By partnering with Xergi
we are now able to offer the Turkish market world class technology. The Danish
technology together with GEO’s long experience as an energy plant contractor in
Turkey we feel that we can really create value for our biogas customers.”
